Comparative examination of politics and religion in selected Middle Eastern states. Focus on national
identities, political ideologies, and institutions, as well as political cultures of societies in the region.
Consideration of key issues facing the region. Prerequisite: Political Science 211, Religion 295, or instructor
permission.
