Student Government

At Bryn Athyn College, Student Government is our official student leadership organization. Members of Student Government participate in campus decision-making, serving as the official voice of the student body and liaison between students, faculty, and administrators.

Student Government Membership

Student government members are responsible for representing student interests to the wider campus community and for planning college-sponsored events. Student Government addresses issues that pertain to students and the quality of campus life, and provides communication among students, faculty, and the administration. Members include:

  • A representative from each class (freshman, sophomore, junior, senior)
  • Representatives from each of the major student clubs and organizations on campus
  • Two members-at large

Elections are held each spring for returning students and each fall for new students.

Representation of College Committees

One or more representatives from student government also sit on the following administrative committees or attend meetings of the following groups or departments:

  • Board Education Committee
  • Faculty Meetings
  • Judicial Hearing Committee
  • Marketing Committee
  • Outcomes Committee

head shot of Hannah DeweesHannah Dewees – SGA President

Student Government President, Hannah Dewees, is a junior at Bryn Athyn College pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Biology along with a minor in Psychology. Her end goal is to become an Occupational Therapist, since she has always loved to help others and believes everyone deserves to find a way to get the most out of life. Hannah is co-captain of the woman’s volleyball team and participates in the dance program when she can. She works many jobs on campus including at the college bookstore, as a student ambassador, and at some sporting events. Outside of school, Hannah coaches a travel volleyball team and some much younger aspiring volleyball stars. In her precious free time, she enjoys going on bike rides, hanging out with family and friends, and cooking and baking healthy food.

Isaac Syre – SGA Vice President

Isaac Syre is in his Junior year at Bryn Athyn College. He plans on graduating with a bachelor’s in Psychology and minor in special education. He is a member of the men’s ice hockey team, Vice President of Bryn Athyn SAAC, and a student ambassador. His favorite tv serious on Netflix is The Office and his favorite food is sushi.

 

head shot of Maia WyncollMaia Wyncoll – Senior Class Representative

Maia Wyncoll is the senior class co-representative. She is majoring in Business with a minor in Communications. She is working toward a job in marketing. Maia is the president of the Bryn Athyn College chapter of the country-wide organization FeelGood.

Maia was born and raised in the small town of Kempton, Pennsylvania. She currently works at The College Grounds Café and for the Development and Alumni Relations office.

head shot of Malcom RiepertMalcom Riepert – Senior Class Representative

Malcolm Riepert is one of two senior class representatives at Bryn Athyn College. This is his second year as a representative of his class for Student Government, and his third year serving on Student Government. Majoring in Biology, he will graduate in the Spring of 2019. Malcolm is also a Resident Assistant in Stuart Hall at the Academy of the New Church, the high school across the street from the college. He has also been an academic tutor and worked with multiple clubs at BAC including the International Student Organization as he is a Canadian citizen.

Jamie Reynolds – Junior Class Representative

Jamie Reynolds is one of the Junior Class Representatives for the 2018-19 school year. She is a Biology major and enjoys attending sporting events at the college. Apart from BAC, Jamie is enrolled in an EMT program that she is very excited about. In her free time, she enjoys baking, playing lacrosse and spending time with friends and family.

Zach Brock – Junior Class Representative

Zach will serve as your Junior class representative during the 2018-2019 academic year alongside Jamie Reynolds. As a captain of the soccer team, SAAC member, and self-proclaimed tennis phenom, he hopes to promote a positive atmosphere out on the sports field as well as inside of the classroom. As a campus maintenance worker and writing tutor, Zach is your guy if you need help fixing anything from a leaky pipe to a less than presentable English paper. If you ever catch him scooting by on his maintenance crew golf cart, don’t be afraid to say hi. Zach is a pretty friendly dude. When you find yourself lost around campus or anywhere in Bryn Athyn for that matter, Zach can point you to where you need to go as he has known the area his entire life. Finally, Zach belongs to the .02% of the population that actually enjoys to run. Fancy that! Thus, if you ever need a running buddy, he would love to show you just how much beauty the trails of the Penny Pack creek have to offer. Zach wishes you a great year at Bryn Athyn as you continue to further your college career.

Alec Grollman – Sophomore Class Representative

Alec Grollman is a sophomore class representative in our student body government. He is a native of California, but attends Bryn Athyn as a business major on the hockey team. In his free time, he enjoys mountain biking and surfing. He is excited to begin his career with SGA and cannot wait to develop better relationships with those at BAC. He would also love to see everyone at Bryn Athyn hockey games! Go lions!

Marissa Miller – Sophomore Class Representative

Marissa Miller is a sophomore at Bryn Athyn College who is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Education along with a minor in Dance. She hopes to become a teacher while keeping a focus on her singing/theatre career. Marissa is a part of the theatre group, the dance program, the school choir, and has recently taken on the sport of soccer as well. Marissa is the Music Coordinator for chapel/convocation services, and she works some sporting events as an announcer. Apart from school, Marissa loves to do musicals and plays, and she also has a great interest in mission work with her church. In her free time, she enjoys going for long walks, singing karaoke, and being with her friends and family (including her golden retriever “Sulley”).
