Associate Professor of Art History

Dr. Kline teaches Art History and Studio Art classes at Bryn Athyn College. He is a specialist in the art of the Italian Renaissance, with particular interest in the construction and communication of meaning in Italian paintings and mural cycles from the thirteenth- through the early sixteenth-centuries. His publications include studies on Botticelli’s Primavera, Michelangelo’s ignudi, and the Duecento frescoes of Santa Maria Inter Angelos. Soon-to-be-published are a chapter on Luca Signorelli’s frescoes in the Duomo of Orvieto and a study of syncretic themes in Raphael’s Disputa. Before coming to Bryn Athyn College, Dr. Kline taught at Temple University and at the University of Hartford.
