A graduate of the Academy of the New Church Boys School, Edmond earned an Associate of Arts degree at Bryn Athyn College of the New Church in 1983 before going on to earn bachelor's and master's degrees in mechanical engineering and a master's in business administration from the University of Michigan. He retired from a distinguished 35-year career in the automotive industry in Detroit, Michigan, where he held senior roles in engineering, product management, and corporate finance, most recently serving as CFO of Vandor Group, Inc. and President of Chazal Enterprises, his business consulting firm. A longtime member and treasurer of the Oak Arbor New Church and School in Rochester, Michigan, Edmond has served on the General Church of the New Jerusalem Board of Directors, currently serves on the Academy of the New Church Board of Trustees, the College Executive Committee, and the Academy Finance Committee and teaches a business course at the Theological School. He also serves on several boards, provides business consulting, and is a licensed private pilot. Edmond is married to Kimberly (Simons) de Chazal; they have three children, including their son Luke, a member of this year's graduating class, and daughter Celeste, who is completing her freshman year at the College.
