Tools for Life wrapped up an incredible week blessed with what may have been the best
weather in camp history! Just as impressive was the energy and dedication of our counselors,
who tackled every challenge with enthusiasm, positivity, and genuine care. Their hard
work created an environment where every camper felt supported, encouraged, and ready
to participate fully in all that the week had to offer.
The week was packed with opportunities to explore life after high school. Campers
heard from some of Bryn Athyn’s most accomplished professionals and community leaders,
who shared insights on gap years, trade careers, military service, college admissions,
financial literacy, and the power of networking.
Learning extended far beyond the classroom. Campers visited a variety of colleges,
including Penn, Saint Joseph’s University, and Montgomery County Community College,
gaining firsthand exposure to different higher education pathways. They also toured
workplaces such as the Kimmel Center, Cannonball Storage, Smith & Diction, and XPN,
where they learned about diverse career opportunities and workplace cultures.
Giving back was an important part of the experience. During our volunteer day, campers
harvested an impressive 70 pounds of blueberries to help provide fresh food for families
in need.
Of course, Tools for Life wouldn't be complete without some memorable adventures.
Campers strengthened their teamwork skills in an Escape Room challenge, enjoyed a
special date night at Harvest Grille in Newtown, and capped off the week with a Friday
Fun Day tubing down the Delaware River.
From meaningful conversations and hands-on learning to service, teamwork, and fun,
Tools for Life was a week filled with growth, friendship, and unforgettable experiences.
We are grateful to everyone who helped make it such a remarkable success.
