Bio

George is a licensed mental health therapist trained in cognitive and dialectical behavioral therapies, treating both individuals and groups. He has worked in numerous hospital and educational settings and is currently a general practitioner, treating mostly anxiety, depression, and schizophrenia spectrum disorders. He has a special interest in eco-therapy, health psychology, and narrative therapeutic approaches. In his free time, he enjoys surfing, writing poetry, walking his dog in the woods, and searching for owls.

Accomplishments

George won first place in the first and only 5k race he ever entered, then promptly retired from competitive running.

Areas of Expertise/Interest

The physical and mental health benefits of spending time in nature; the detrimental effects of safetyism and parental overprotectiveness on childhood development; and using narrative story-structuring to treat PTSD related depression.
