October is Breast Cancer Awareness month and the BAC Lions do their part by hosting Pink Games to help raise money and awareness. This year, women’s volleyball raised money for the Side-Out Foundation. “They use the money to help people with metastatic breast cancer have certain testing done that will help steer the course of treatment . . . We do Dig Pink games to use our sport to fuel positive change. Breast cancer (and all cancer) affect so many people and it’s nice to do our part in the fight,” says coach Amber Wood. The volleyball Dig Pink game was on October 5, 2024.
Men’s and women’s soccer also do their part. They host pink games and donate the proceeds to the Susan G. Komen foundation. Coach Bill O’Neill states, “Each year we host a breast cancer awareness game to help raise funds for breast cancer research and the fight to end breast cancer. This day is to honor those who have fought breast cancer and let them know they are not fighting alone, so we encourage them to fight like a Lion!!”
Pink games are a great way for our athletes to contribute to help end breast cancer. Consider making your own donation today.
